About Us
Kerans Virtual Assistance was established in 2006 by Kate Kerans, a paralegal specializing
in real estate conveyancing.
She possesses over 17 years of administrative experience with a decade of that spent in the legal profession.
Kate’s professional background includes 6 years spent as a Judicial
Clerk with the Alberta Provincial
Court as well as legal assistant and paralegal positions with private law
firms.
Her training includes: the Provincial Paralegal Course at the Alberta
Justice College, the Computer & Office Skills Program at the
Aboriginal Career & Employment Centre, the Legal Assistant Real
Estate Conveyancing Program through Red Deer College and numerous courses
with the Legal Education Society of Alberta.
In addition she has experience with Summation, Time Matters,
JOIN, CAP, CJIS, Basecamp and ProLaw. She has extensive
Court experience, dictaphone skills and is a Commissioner of Oaths. She
has comprehensive accounting and bookkeeping skills and is familiar
with the trust requirements for both the Law Society of Alberta and
British Columbia.
She has completed the VBSS-Virtual Business Startup System and
successfully graduated from the Virtual Assistant Training Program or
VATP in April 2007. She is a graduate of the Legal Assistant Real
Estate Conveyancing Program through Red Deer College and strives to
take advantage of continuing education opportunities. In order to
better serve her clients she is also a graduate of the Alberta 52-week
Self-Employment Entrepreneurship Program.
